Less than a week to go and we are chomping at the bit to kick things off at the Feast & Fire Opening Night Party.Book your shuttle bus ticket today to ensure you get home safely from our dinner events. Remember there are no taxis so it is vital that you pre-book the shuttle for Friday or Saturday night. There are buses to/from Bridgetown, Pemberton, Manjimup and Fonty’s Pool.
Also, we now have day shuttles (ticketed) from Manjimup and Bridgetown including a special $4 Manjimup return ticket on Sunday.
Things are really gearing up for the Festival Village too. From local gourmet food, produce and wine, to cooking demonstrations, local storytelling sessions hosted by Jon Doust, The Wine Shed Sessions, Food Photography Workshops and of course music!
Did you spot any pics from the Perth launch event? Petition Kitchen’s Jesse Blake gave a special preview of the Truffle Hunters Breakfast. Think three indulgent courses of local Genuinely Southern Forest produce; truffle butter roasted pears, home made crumpets, smoked trout, truffled eggs, bacon, homemade truffled sausages, bubbles and more!
Or maybe you spotted us on Sunrise on Seven this week? Little ol’ Truffle Kerfuffle on the telly! Gabby the truffle dog better not let the fame go to her head.
Fancy sitting fireside with your favourite chef, sipping wine and learning the tricks of their trade? Do just that the Chef’s Cabin in the Festival Village. Wine and food tastings included and we’ve just released some extra tickets including for The Agrarian Kitchen Truffle Cookbook and and truffle tortellini sessions. Broadsheet Perth wrote up these lovely profiles on visiting chef’s Duncan Welgemoed (Feast and Fire Opening Night) and James Viles (From the Earth Truffle Degustation).
Family day (Sunday) lineup is looking great too. Local illustrator Gabriel Evans will be hosting children’s storytime, Jess Arnott (Masterchef) will be hosting free kids cooking workshops all day and there will be plenty of free family entertainment and activities in addition to the regular line-up.
Still looking for accommodation? There’s been some rumors of all accommodation being booked but there is still accommodation surrounding Manjimup in Pemberton, Walpole, Bridgetown, Nannup, Balingup, Donnybrook and more. All an easy drive from Fonty’s Pool. Here’s some ideas of places to stay! Did you know Margaret River is just 90 minutes away too?
Thanks,
